This video is straight up heartbreaking. Two of the nicest and most talented humans on the planet get destroyed. Canard has suffered two broken femurs, a broken arm and a broken collarbone in the last two years (another femur earlier in his career) and this was his second race back from the collarbone. Heartbreaking. Also, seeing Morais’ face hit the deck from 20 feet up and 80 feet out was dreadful. They were both in near critical condition but, miraculously, word is they will make a full recovery. My heart goes out to both of them.

Ever since I started racing Mt. Bikes when I was 9 Palmer was my hero along with Kirt Voreis. Slalom World Champion and losing to Nico by .15 of a second in DH on flat pedals was only the beginning as most people know him, but there was a hell of a lot more history before that, including 10 snowboard world titles. Winning is Bitchin!
